Setting the stage

Romania Energy Center (ROEC) in partnership with the Institute of Energy for South East Europe (IENE) and the European Commission representation in Bucharest are joining forces once again to convene a one-day event to examine current topics of the region’s energy agenda. Our central theme – energy policies currently pursued in South East Europe and the changes in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion in Ukraine.

In this segment, moderated by Christos Dimas (Institute of Energy for South East Europe - IENE), you can hear interventions from Eugenia Gusilov (ROEC) and Mara Roman (Deputy Head of the European Commission Office in Bucharest)

Followed by presentations from:
• Costis Stambolis (Executive Director of IENE) on Regional overview on decarbonization policies
• Teodor Chirica (Chairman of the Board of Directors Nuclearelectrica, Romania) speaking on COP 28 and the role of nuclear (presentation prepared together with Octavian Rosca)
• Ramona Moldovan (Romanian Energy Ministry) with an Overview on funding available for new RES projects in Romania
• Marius Lungu (European Commission) with a video message on the topic of REPowerEU
• Ioannis Tamaresis (Terna Energy) with a Corporate presentation on Greece’s leading renewables company.
