During an intervention on TV Moldova 1 on February 4th, Eugenia Gusilov analyzed the aid package offered by the European Union during the Transnistrian crisis. The EU strategy for Moldova over the next two years involves three distinct phases. Phase I comprises 30 million euros in emergency aid for February 1-10, allocating 10 million euros to Moldova for electricity procurement and 20 million euros to Transnistria for gas procurement. Phase II provides 100 million euros in financial aid until mid-April for both regions, subject to certain conditions for Transnistria. Phase III entails an additional 50 million euros from the EU and international partners to strengthen energy resilience by the end of 2026.

One week after this discussion, following Tiraspol's initial acceptance of Phase I, the leader of Transnistria refused to advance to Phase II of the European aid package, opting instead for a return to Russian gas through a loan granted by Russia.
