How prepared is Europe for the winter compared to last year? Eugenia Gusilov noted a quick inventory of new measures including:

- The new pipeline between Poland and Norway with 10 Bcm capacity
- The Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector (IGB)
- In Germany: 3 floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) import platforms and a 4th onshore terminal under construction
- The floating LNG import platform jointly leased and operated by Estonia and Finland
- Underground gas storage filling levels reaching 96% at the beginning of October instead of November 1
- Operationalization of the EU platform for joint gas purchasing
- High LNG imports from the US with two-thirds of US LNG exports arriving in Europe
- Norway replacing Russia as Europe's number one gas supplier
