Since Moldovatransgaz, the company operating the gas transport network and owned by Moldovagaz which is controlled by Gazprom, failed to meet disaggregation conditions for ANRE to certify it as an Independent Transmission Operator, the Moldovan regulator is considering alternative solutions. These include certifying VestMoldTransgaz, a company owned by Transgaz, as an Independent System Operator if Moldovatransgaz fails to complete its separation from Moldovagaz by September 2023.
