Discussing fuel prices at Digi24, Eugenia Gusilov highlighted that although petrol and diesel have almost reached parity at 6.6 lei per liter, gasoline remains slightly more expensive by only 7 bani than diesel. In Romania, annual gasoline consumption is generally lower than diesel consumption, registering 1.4 million tons of gasoline compared to 5.9 million tons of diesel out of a total annual consumption of 7.3 million tons. Given that the vast majority of commercial transport runs on diesel, the recent increase in demand for gasoline is linked to the onset of summer and the vacation period, when passenger vehicle owners travel significantly more.
