National and European measures have proven effective, including savings from the Save gas for a safe winter package, the Play my part public information campaign, the diversification of gas sources through LNG, and accelerated investments in renewables. At the same time, favorable factors played a role, such as the unusually mild winter and the temporary lack of competition with China for liquefied natural gas volumes. While this alignment of positive factors is welcome, relaxation is not an option since China's eventual economic reawakening could shift the international context and LNG prices.
