On January 15, Eugenia Gusilov spoke on Digi24 about the slight weekend increase of 5 bani per liter in the price of standard gasoline and diesel at Petrom stations. This price movement should not cause concern, as it falls within normal market fluctuations and does not indicate a crisis in the red zone.
Discussions also focused on ongoing efforts to find non-Russian sources for liquid fuels, particularly diesel and jet fuel. Kuwait plans to increase its diesel exports to Europe by five times, while American oil companies expect to boost US crude production to 12.4 to 12.8 million barrels per day over the next two years.
To successfully substitute Russian petroleum products, the expansion of global refining capacity will play a crucial role, notably through facilities such as the Beaumont refinery in Texas and the Al Zour refinery in Kuwait.
