Environment vs. Oil & Gas 2011

On November 29, 2011 took place the 3rd edition of the conference titled “ENVIRONMENT vs. OIL & GAS – How to turn a conflict into a Mutual Cooperation”. The event organized by the Petroleum Club and Industry Media Vector was held at the Ramada Parc Hotel in Bucharest. Radu Dudău and Eugenia Gușilov of Romania Energy Center (ROEC) moderated the two panels.

The topic of the presentations and discussions focused on such aspects as the impact of the oil industry activity on the environment; management of hazardous waste; industrial ecology integrated services; measures to prevent and counter the water, soil and air pollution; methods for treatment of contaminated soil, etc. The first session was dedicated to the assessment, prevention and control of the oil and gas industry impacts on the environment. Representatives of OMV Petrom, Tecon Engineering, Deloitte Ungaria, Vivani and the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești held presentations. The second session focused on research and development of new solutions and technologies that reduce the level of pollution with presentations from companies such as Atlas Copco, Nexans, TŰVKarpat, Brenntag and Comoti – the National Research and Development Institute for Gas Turbines.
